About Chase
Chase is waiting at Miami-Dade Animal Services for a rescue to step up and pull him. Pledge whatever you can. Once he’s safe, we’ll email you instructions for sending your donation directly to the rescue. These pledges will help cover Chase’s rehabilitation and support his transition into a home prepared to care for him and understand his background.
Chase is a pit bull whose case prompted members of the Miami-Dade community to rally for his rescue after photos circulated online showing him confined in a cage. Screenshots from Google Maps appeared to show him in the cage outdoors as far back as late 2025. He was surrendered to Miami-Dade Animal Services on Monday, Oct. 19.
During a medical evaluation, he received a body condition score of 4 out of 9. The exam also noted irritation on his underside and legs, inflammation between his toes, and patchy to widespread hair loss. No visible fleas, ticks or other external parasites were found. Both eyes showed conjunctivitis, along with mild entropion, a condition in which an eyelid turns inward and may rub against the eye. Chase may benefit from an evaluation by an animal behaviorist, who can recommend a plan to support his transition into a home. A foster or adopter should be prepared to work with Chase and the behavior professional to reinforce the skills and behaviors he learns.
